About Me

Hello and Welcome!

I live and work as a textile artist in the beautiful city of Canterbury.

Initially during my art degree I wanted to specialise in painting, but during a term’s course in textiles I fell in love with machine embroidery, as unexpectedly a creative light came on for me when I first sat at a sewing machine.

I have been stitching for over twenty years now and it continues to be an exciting textural journey, developing my own style (and relationship with my sewing machines) and learning about the dynamics of coloured thread against collaged fabric. Happily the combinations are endless.

Relatively recently – I decided to combine my love of machine embroidery with my adoration of animals and focus on portraiture. At the heart of my work has always been a love of detail, and this, coupled with a passion for colour, informs my designs.
